The digitisation of the work process at Guido Schoenen

Guido Schoenen' orthopaedic instrument workshop has been providing assistive devices since 1984.

They manufacture prostheses, orthoses, corsets, orthotics and therapeutic elastic stockings and have been a loyal Shapemakers customer for 5 years.

Before its collaboration with Shapemakers, Guido Schoenen still used plaster to make moulds. In that case, the body part was bandaged with plaster bandages, after which the plaster hardened and was cut loose. After this, the plaster cast was filled with liquid plaster to form a model.

After switching to scanning body parts and having moulds milled, they have shortened the process by an average of a week and "The fit has become better and more accurate".

Guido also revealed his appreciation for OrthoShapes' helpfulness: "if I have any questions about the software or other issues, the people at Shapemakers are easy to reach and are always willing to help".
