How does a 3D scanner work in shoe technology?
3D scanners in shoe technology record the three-dimensional geometry of the foot and convert it into a digital model. You load that model into CAD/CAM software like LutraCAD and then use it as the basis for shoe lasts, fitting models and orthopaedic supplements.
A 3D scan replaces the physical print. No plaster, foam or waiting time for the material to harden. A foot scan takes a few minutes and immediately provides a usable digital file.
